The awards ceremony of Innovation Nanshan 2022 Entrepreneurship Stars Competition was held at the Archives Service Building in Nanshan District on December 13, 2022. Twelve projects were shortlisted from over 600 entries nationwide after more than six months of selection, and the first, second and third prizes in the Startup Team and Growth Company categories were awarded. The Innovation Nanshan 2023 Entrepreneurship Stars Competition was also launched on the same day.

Huang Xiangyue, deputy secretary of the CPC Nanshan District Committee and mayor of Nanshan District, attended the event and delivered a speech. Participating companies, project teams, event organizers, financial institutions, and innovation mentors joined the event. Pan Xiaoping, vice president of MOSO Power Technology Co., Ltd. (stock code: 002660), attended the event on behalf of the company, which was named in the 15 Figures in 15 Years list of the competition.
Supported by China Association for Science and Technology and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Innovation Nanshan 2022 Entrepreneurship Stars Competition was organized by Nanshan District People’s Government, Shenzhen Municipal Commission of Science and Technology Innovation and Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, and hosted by Nanshan District Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau.
The awards ceremony kicked off with the theme song of Entrepreneurship Stars Competition — I am the star.
In his speech, Huang said the Entrepreneurship Stars Competition has been held for 15 straight years, and has become a distinguished event of Nanshan linking global innovation and entrepreneurship, which signifies Nanshan’s unceasing growth. Nanshan will make every effort to build a world-class business environment in attracting more innovative enterprises, organizations and talents from China and other countries, and continue to enhance Nanshan’s leadership and innovation power.
Awards were later presented to outstanding event service organizations, winning enterprises and groups. The “New Generation Phased Array Satellite Communication Terminal” and “Intelligent Robot: Next Generation Autonomous Driving Solution with Visual 3D Understanding” won first place in the Startup Team and Growing Company categories, respectively.
Nine judges and representatives of award-winning enterprises were also invited to share their stories to mark the 15th anniversary of the Entrepreneurship Stars Competition.
Ding Baoyu, managing partner of Cowin Capital, served as a judge of the Entrepreneurship Stars Competition 7 times in 15 years, witnessing the growth of the contest, as well as the emergence of top entrepreneurs. Li Yi, founder of Appotronics Corporation, participated in the competition in 2010 and has turned his initial idea in the competition to reality as Appotronics has become one of the world’s leading laser display companies.
The competition has received more than 20,000 entries to date, and 707 enterprises or teams have won awards, including 329 teams and 378 companies. Ten of the award-winning companies have been listed on stock exchanges, while 62 businesses were named as national high-tech enterprises and 8 enterprises were recognized as national “Little Giant” companies in innovation and specialization.
As the Excellence Award winner in the Company category at the first Entrepreneurship Stars Competition in 2008, MOSO Power is committed to its “Innovative Technology, Product is King” strategy, and continued to innovate and make breakthroughs. MOSO Power became the first LED driver manufacturer in China to be listed on the SMEs board of Shenzhen Stock Exchange on March 16, 2012. It is the 100th listed company in Nanshan District, and the first listed company that participated in the Entrepreneurship Stars Competition.
The year 2022 is the 15th anniversary of the Entrepreneurship Stars Competition and 10th anniversary of MOSO Power’s listing, making it a significant year for the competition and company.
